Eagles Nest Winery

Why the name Eagles Nest? Our namesakes, in part, are the Golden Eagles that live in the Ramona Valley AVA that encompasses our vineyards. Our premium wines benefit from the geography, altitude, and climate of this premium wine grape growing region and our passion for making fine wines. Our collectable custom art labels depict the winery and area organizations.

A boutique winery, we feature handcrafted red wines and Rhone region white wines. We walk our estate vineyards that we planted, and make our wines lovingly by hand – the old fashioned way. Eagles Nest honors the Italian winemaking tradition with our authentic hand-built wood-fired pizza oven. It serves as a focal point for social gatherings and the important enjoyment of both friends and family, and fine wine and fine foods – bringing alive the Italian saying -“Buon Cibo, Buon Vino, Buoni Amici!” (Good Food, Good Wine, Good Friends!).  

We also offer the unique and exquisitely appointed Eagles Nest Cottage. In a classic Italian “agriturismo” style, guests enjoy breathtaking valley views, and a relaxing country lifestyle, along with intimate and informative tours of the winery facilities and the adjacent vineyards. This high-end wine-themed vacation home is nestled high above a Syrah vineyard on our private gated estate.

Eagles Nest is family owned and operated by Dennis & Julie Grimes. We’re a fully licensed and bonded winery and members of The Wine Institute, American Society for Enology and Viticulture, San Diego County Vintners Association, Ramona and Julian Chambers of Commerce, Ramona Valley Winery Assoc., Ramona Valley Vineyard Assoc., and the San Diego County Farm Bureau. We participate in wine industry seminars and viniculture programs at UC Davis.
